intelWATT participated in the 57th Summer School of NCSR Demokritos, that took place physically in Athens from the 11th to the 15th of July 2022 after two years of online events.
The intelWATT team of NCSR Demokritos presented three training courses concerning the development of innovative membranes for environmental separations, the current status and future prospects of membrane distillation and the treatment of industrial effluents with the use of membrane technologies. The above lectures introduced project intelWATT, its three case studies and the innovative way the project addresses important environmental and technological challenges in energy intensive industrial applications. The participants of the Summer School, under- and post-graduate students and young researchers, visited the laboratory facilities and had a close look at the lab-scale experimental setups of ultrafiltration, nanofiltration, reverse osmosis and membrane distillation, as well as some analytical techniques for assessing water quality, and had the opportunity to interact with the researchers involved in the intelWATT project.
