intelWATT participated in the 58th Summer School of NCSR Demokritos that took place in Athens from 10 to 14 July 2023 with great attendance.
Dr. Evangelos Kouvelos (NCSR Demokritos) presented a training course concerning membrane treatment technologies for reuse of cooling tower blow down water from thermal power plants. The above lecture introduced Case Study 1 of intelWATT and the innovative way the project addresses important environmental and technological challenges. The intelWATT team of NCSR Demokritos also presented two academic posters concerning superhydrophobic nanoparticle coated PVDF-HFP membranes for membrane distillation desalination, as well as substance recovery and water reclamation from electroplating industry effluents (Case Study 3, in cooperation with TH Köln). The Summer School participants, mostly under- and post-graduate students and young researchers, showed great interest in the project and in the technologies discussed.
