Great news: a new exchange student at TH Köln is working in intelWATT project. His name is Kelvin Nursiah and he’s currently pursuing his PhD research project under the supervision of Professor Mihail Barboiu within the NSA team at the European Institute of Membranes in Montpellier, France. His research work focuses on the development of novel self-supported flat sheet hybrid polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membranes incorporating amphiphilic molecules known as Artificial Water Channels (AWCs), for desalination processes in membrane distillation. For the past two months, he has been collaborating with his fellow PhD candidate, Sven Johann Bohr at TH Köln. In the framework of the intelWATT project, they are working towards an alternative approach for the fabrication of tailor made novel flat sheet PVDF hybrid membranes with improved properties, based on our previous works.

Welcome on-board Kelvin!
